Our Guardian Home Program is designed to place one of our select male dogs in a loving, permanent home while he remains an important part of our breeding program. This is a unique partnership that allows a family to enjoy life with an exceptional dog, while we maintain ownership and breeding rights during his time in our program.

In a guardian home, the dog lives full-time with you as your own—receiving the daily love, structure, and companionship that comes with being a valued member of the family. While he resides with you, LuLu Ridge Pups will retain ownership and remain actively involved in certain aspects of his care and development.

We provide all major care expenses, including his food (which must be maintained according to our specified diet), routine wellness veterinary care, flea and tick prevention, and standard deworming. You provide the home—daily exercise, training, consistency, and a high level of care and attention.

 

As part of this partnership, we maintain access to the dog throughout his time in the program. This may include time spent with us for training, evaluation, outings, or simply to ensure we are staying connected with him. Additionally, he must be available for scheduled breedings as needed.

 

Because every dog and placement is different, this program is designed with a level of flexibility. There may be times where our involvement is more hands-on, and other times where it is minimal. Open communication and mutual respect are key to making this arrangement successful for everyone involved—especially the dog.

When his breeding career is complete, we will work with the guardian family to determine the best long-term plan for him. In many cases, the guardian home will have the opportunity to purchase him at a reduced price and make him a permanent part of their family, if it’s the right fit for everyone involved.

 

Our priority is always the well-being of the dog. If at any point the guardian placement is no longer the right fit, we will step in and make the appropriate decision regarding his placement.
